1971 - RARC was formed as a school for four children with developmental disabilities.
1988 - RARC became a Supported Employment provider. Employment Specialists, and/or Job Coaches, developed regular jobs in the community and lent support to employees as they began working in their individual placement jobs.
1991 - RARC began community group work placement. Crews of individuals with disabilities supervised by RARC staff members work in various occupations throughout the community; working in restaurants, hotels, industrial, recycling, golf courses, and many other businesses.
1994 - RARC'S "Community Based Skills Development Program" was created. Through this program employees are able to reach their maximum employment potential with minimum supervision.
This training is designed to create more jobs throughout the community.
TODAY RARC continues to further meet the needs of traditionally underserved adults with developmental and other disabilities. RARC provides varied work opportunities to fit the skills and abilities of this group.
RARC'S MISSION stems from our belief that everyone has the same basic human rights, and that everyone deserves the opportunity to reach his or her fullest potential.
RARC, INC. is a private non-profit agency providing vocational services to persons with developmental disabilities.
RARC is a member of the United Way.
